Village of Manolich

Manolich is a village in Southeastern Bulgaria. It is located in municipality of Sungurlare, Burgas region.

It is located 22 km North from the town of Sungurlare, 97 km Northwest from the town of Burgas , 358 km East from Sofia.

The village falls at the end of the so-called Black sea geographical area, in northwest part of Kamchia damp, in the central part of Stara Planina.

The Winter is relatively mild and rains are more than snow, but depending on the winters sometimes the snow stays longer.

The climate in the village is strongly influenced by the near damp Kamchia.

The population is 1200 people.

In the 18 sentury the village was inhabited mainly by Turkish and Kardarash. In the period 1944 – 48 the majority of the population of the village Manolich emigrated in Turkey and the village became depopulated. However, in the period 1950-1960, in the village settled a new population coming from the Rhodopes.

The village has a primary school, a mosque, also a cultural center and doctor's office. The streets are paved and well- lightened.

Тhe Young people in Manolich do sports and the village has a football team, which competes in the region of Burgas.

Tourism

Manolich people respect their origin and every year in the second half of August travel to Rodopi mountain to do some rituals for health and prosperity.
The village is very near to the damp of Kamchia.
This is one of the few Bulgarian villages, which offers different types of tourism.
Near the river of Kamchia, where the dam begins there are 20 bungaloos, which are a wonderful place for vacation. The region has many picturesque places .
