Mala Rakovitsa is a village in West Bulgaria. It is situated in Bozhurishte municipality, Sofia region.

It is 24 km southwest of the town of Bozhurishte, 10 km west of the town of Bankya and 27 km in the same direction from the city of Sofia.

It is located in mountain region and its altitude is about 899 m. The climate is characterized with mild winters, cool summers and this is due to the proximity of Vitosha and Lyulin mountains.

The permanent population is about 5 people. Part of the neighborhoods are connected with asphalt road and also the electricity system is under construction.

The nearest stores as well as school and kindergarten are in the town of Bankya. Medical assistance you can get at the village of Hrabarsko.

Tourism and landmarks

The village is with nice and beautiful nature and advantages are the clean air and the proximity to the capital.

Klisurski monastery "St Petka" is cultural landmark in proximity to the village. This is large reconstructed holy complex that is often visited by tourists from Sofia and Bankya.

In the town annually is organized International Festival of the the child songs "Million Wonders" that continues three days and is often gathered on 16-18 of June.

In the middle of July there are traditional gatherings of the mineral water and the long living "Goreshtlyatsi". The town hosts also International Jazz Fest "Bankya".

Near this SPA resort there are many starting points of tourist routes.
