Laga is a village in West Bulgaria. It is situated in Etropole municipality, Sofia region.
It is 6 km north of the town of Etropole, 13 km east of the town of Pravets and 81 km northeast of the capital Sofia.
It is located in mountain region and it is in proximity to the flow of Malak iskar river and its altitude is about 600 m. The climate is temperate and is characterized by cold winter, warm but not hot summer and precipitation mostly falls in the months March and June.
The permanent population is about 178 people.
Bus transportation connects it to the municipality. The main streets are asphalted and with lightning. There are constructed water and electricity systems. The mobile operators have coverage.
Here are functioning town hall, community center with library, primary school, restaurant and store. Medical assistance you can get at the town of Etropole where is also functioning the nearest kindergarten and specialized hospitals you will find in the capital Sofia.
At the moment the monument of the fallen in the wars is being reconstructed.
Saeva dupka cave that is part of the list of the 100 National Toursit Sites of Bulgaria is 36 km in northeast direction. This unique natural phenomenon is among the most beautiful and musical here you can see the unique for Bulgaria rock formations helictites.
The dams are with crystal clear waters - Skarnava and Osikovitsa /16 km northeast of the village of Osikovitsa/ and attracts the people who that enjoy fishing with nice conditions for practicing it.
Near the village of Osikovitsa also you visit the church "St Archangel Michael" as well as the monastery "St Bogoroditsa". Another interesting landmark in proximity is Chekotinski monastery (20 km northwest) suitable for walk in the weekend.
For the people that enjoy golfing there are excellent conditions - the golf course in Pravets and the complex Pravets Resort Golf and SPA (8 km) reaches even the highest standards.
