Govedare is a village in Southern Bulgaria. It is located on the territory of Municipality of Pazarjik, district of Pazardjik.
Govedare stands about 15 km east from Pazardjik, about 10 km north-west from Stambolijski and about 113 km west from Sofia.
Trakia Motorway is about 10 km away from the village.
There is regular public transport to the bigger towns of Pazardjik and Plovdiv.
The location of the village defines flat relief.
The climate is continental, with warm summers, and winters with average temperatures of about 2ºС.
Govedare disposes of well settled infrastructure with asphalt roads and partly lighted streets, partial sewerage system, electricity, cable TV and telephones.
The population of the village is about 1534 residents..
There are kindergarten, primary school, community center, town hall, post office, shops and restaurants. There also is a GP, and the closest hospital is in the town of Stamboliyski.
Hunting, hiking and mountaineering are popular in the region of the village of Govedare. There are 5 reservoirs – located at an average distance of 25 km from the village, namely: Krichim, Pravishte, Dikinika, Pyasachnik and Vacha. Ushatovi dupki, Snejanka and Vodnata peshtera caves are each at a distance of about 25 km from the village.
