Lyubenovo is a village in North Bulgaria. It is situated in Nikopol municipality, Pleven region.
In Bulgaria there are two other settlements that carry the same name in Radnevo municipality, Stara Zagora region and in Haskovo municipality, Haskovo region.
It is 13 km south of the town of Nikopol and 40 km northeast of the town of Pleven. The neighboring village of Vabel is 6 km northwest. The capital Sofia is 205 km southwest.
It is located in the Danubian Plain and its altitude is between 100 and 199 m. The climate is temperate with big differences in the average temperatures during the seasons. The winter is severe for the lots of snow precipitation and the huge drifts. The summer is dry and hot but the soil is fertile and suitable for farming.
The village is considerably well maintained with asphalted main streets and lighting. There are water and electricity systems. Also all mobile operators have coverage.
The permanent population is about 209 people.
Here are functioning town hall, community center, store and pub. The nearest GP and dentist work in the neighboring village of Vabel and hospital you will find in the regional center Pleven. In Nikopol there are school and kindergarten.
In the town of Nikopol there are many landmarks such "Eliya" drinking fountain, the church "St St Petar and Paul", the Nikopol fortress, "Vassil Levksi museum" etc.
Just 20 km near the town of Belene is natural park Persina. It encompasses the 19 Belenski islands. It is unique and significant ecologically for here are located three biosphere reserves:
In the town of Pleven you can visit three of the 100 Tourist Sites of Bulgaria - Pleven Epopee 1877, the Regional History museum and the mausoleum-chapel "St George Pobedonosets". Other interesting places in proximity are Kaylaka park and the Wine Museum.
