Bulgarian innovation rescues airplanes from insects and organic pollutants

ABOUT BULGARIA

In Plovdiv, the University of Food Technologies has developed innovations that will protect aircraft from the accumulation of insects and all kinds of contaminants of biological origin on the wings of our aircraft during flight. This said Professor Albert Krastanov, head of the Department of "Biotechnology" at the university. There have developed biological molecules that break down insects that collide in flight the plane and superimposed on its surface.
The phenomenon is quite dangerous as deposits on the wings of the machines leads to a deterioration of aerodynamics, resulting in turbulence occurs, from which flight safety has been questioned.
Innovation is part of an international project between 12 countries aimed at developing special coatings for airplanes to prevent icing of the aircraft during the flight, and the accumulation of insects and all kinds of contaminants of biological origin on the wings of our aircraft in flight.
