ABOUT BULGARIA

The Bulgarian PM is scheduled to visit the White House around Christmas

December will be a strong month for Bulgaria. First, PM Boyko Borissov is to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin on December 7th in Anapa, and then he is scheduled to meet re-elected US President Barack Obama around Christmas.
The official invitation was received yesterday by Borissov's deputy Tsvetan Tsvetanov during his meeting with John O. Brennan, chief counterterrorism advisor to U.S. President Barack Obama.
Borissov and Obama are scheduled to discuss the options for US entry visa lift for Bulgarian nationals, the recognition of social security payments and length of service accumulated by Bulgarian workers in USA, as well as the situation in the Middle East, diplomatic sources told the Standart.
The two will also discuss the opportunities for investments of US companies in Bulgaria.
Borissov's visit appears to be perfectly timed after the general elections in the USA and before the ones in Bulgaria.
The visit of PM Borissov to the USA will take place in December, most probably in the second part of the month. The visit of PM to the USA will be among the first meeting of Barack Obama after he won the presidential elections for a second time. PM Borissov will have talks with the directors of FBI, DEA. PM Borissov will have a meeting with the Bulgarian diaspora in the USA where according to the statistics over 250,000 Bulgarians live.
Before flying for the USA, PM Borissov will meet Russia's President Putin, according to unofficial information. President Putin invited PM Borissov to take part in the official turning of the first sod of South Stream project in the town of Anapa on December 7. It is expected that the event is attended by the leaders of the countries which participate in the project - Russia, Bulgaria, Serbia, Hungary, Slovenia, Italy. So far the Bulgarian governmental press office does not say if PM Borissov will fly to Anapa. It is very likely that the talk with President Putin be via a video connection.
