BSP wants minimum wage increase to BGN 340 from October

ABOUT BULGARIA

BSP will push to raise the minimum wage from BGN 310 to BGN 340 from October following a dialogue with trade unions and employers, Socialist leader Sergey Stanishev stated.

The discussion on the priorities of the budget framework for 2014 will begin in September. The approach to the budget can not be technocratic but rather has to be political and has to solve most problems of citizens, he noted.

According to the information of Standart, at the first meeting of the Executive Board of the Socialist party after the summer vacation, BSP party leader Stanishev has asked for measures to reduce the costs of water and heating.

The whole Bulgarian economy is riddled with monopolies and cartels which penalize the people, Stanishev stated.

National Assembly Chair Mihail Mikov gave the example of a water sector project in Gabrovo, where after the reconstruction, water losses will be reduced by 35%. Why then water prices should not be reduced, Mihov asked.
